As you watch think in what ways are the characters in the story alike and different.

Alexander, Who Used To Be Rich Last Sunday is a realistic fiction story; it is a made up story that could really happen.
It is about a boy who receives money from his grandparents and tries to save it to buy something he really wants. As his week goes by, Alexander finds out there are other important things he wants to buy. Would Alexander have enough money to buy what he initially wanted?

You are about to read Boom Town; it is a historical fiction story that takes place in the past. It has made up characters, is placed in a real setting, and mixes facts with imagination. Boom Town is about a girl named Amanda and her family who moved out west. Amanda is bored so she decides to bake a pie and soon something amazing happens in her new life. Think about what things you like to do when you have nothing to do. Have you ever tried to name new games or things? What ideas did you come up with? What was the result of these ideas?
